Wallowa River Fishing 8/29

9/1: nights are cooler, so perhaps water temps are too (?). ODFW reported that the larger rainbows tend to move upstream to cooler water and tributaries (per their radio tagged fish program). The result will be tougher fishing in the "canyon" until we get some September rains and temperatures.

8/3 Finally, the weather has turned cooler and we got a water temperature on the Wallowa yesterday: 62 degrees at 9:00 am. That is cool enough to fish without stressing the trout. However, outside air temps are expected to rise again this week, so best to fish in the mornings. As always, if you have a thermometer, please check the water temp and call or email us. Thanks!
